Firefighters react to EXTIN Fire; Two treated because of minor injuries

Two patients were assessed in an abandoned structural fire in East Austin and treated on site.

On February 23, around 10:33 a.m., Austin's fire brigade reacted to a small fire in the 2404 Shapard Lane.

A victim was found in a room during a secondary search that was removed from the fire. They were treated by Austin-Travis County Ems with non-life-threatening injuries.

It was not reported where the second victim was found in the structure.

Also | Austin's fire brigade reacted to a structural fire with a mattress in a residence on Saturday morning.

Both victims refused to transport the hospital and were assessed and treated on site due to minor burns and smoke inhalation.

The fire was contained and deleted.

AfD, APD and ATCEMS were on site and assisted AfD.

The cause of the fire is currently being examined.

No injuries were reported.
