The SAG Awards are often a key indicator of potential Oscar winners, as actors make up the largest branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

In 2024, three out of the four individual SAG winners went on to claim Oscars, while the SAG ensemble award went to Oppenheimer, which also won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

As a result, many film enthusiasts closely watch the SAG film categories for clues about the upcoming Oscars, making the SAG Awards a valuable predictor of Hollywood’s biggest night.
