SPS technologies of fire action: class action that was submitted for those affected in Montgomery County

The first class action was submitted after a fire broke out in the PLC Technologies Factory in Abington Township in Montgomery County last Monday.

The background story:

On the evening of Monday, February 17th, a massive fire devoured the PLC Technologies Factory on the 300 block of the Highland Road in Abington Township with more than 60 employees, said officials.

The factory, which produces metal components and connecting elements, was consumed by flames and thick black smoke, as firefighters from 70 companies nearby.

Patrick Malloy, chief of police from Abington, said that the majority of the chemicals used in the work was kept in a building that was not affected by the fire.

Firefighters worked around the clock for days to extinguish the four-alarm fire, and other hotspots allegedly flammed during the fire fight.

Officials increased an evacuation announcement and a connection on the location and area for houses and companies within 1 mile of the fire on Wednesday, February 19,.

On February 20, the municipality of Abington said that the fire was included, but the efforts of oppression continued.

Officials have emphasized that air and water are safe after rehearsal tests have led to “no detectable contamination of public concerns”.

The residents were instructed to call 911 when they have debris on their property and someone should be visiting.

Air quality measuring devices were installed in several districts near the fire brigade scene.

The air monitoring is carried out for: particles (pm 10, 4, 2.5) hydrogen cyanide, chlorine, fleeting organic compounds, hydrogen sulfide and sulfuric acid.

The lawsuit

A class action was submitted in the name of those who were affected on Monday, February 17th in the FABRIK of the SPS Technologies in Abington Township in Abington Township.

In the lawsuit it is claimed that the fire and explosion were caused by SPS techonologies “failure” in order to properly inspect their facility, to properly wait and/or to do.

Lawyers from Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky and Stranch, Jennings & Garvey submitted together with a person from the surname Jones from Montgomery County, who was also submitted on behalf of the prospective class members against SPS Technologies, LLC D/B/A PCC fastening elements – SPS Jenkintown .

According to the lawsuit, Jones and prospective members believe that the fire was caused by the failure to inspect the location of the factory and its production and production equipment.

In addition, the lawsuit has claimed that SPS techonologies do not “maintain industrial standards”.

Since thousands were affected by residents, Jones claims that the fire led to a loss of wages, “the impairment of the value of their real and personal property and emotional stress”.

The plaintiff and the class are looking for a awarded judgment of 75,000 US dollars in their favor and against PLC technologies.
