One killed, one of a stray bullet in Forest Hill Shooting injured NBC 5 Dallas-Fort value

One mother of two children is dead and another person recovers their injuries after a stray ball has entered their back yard, said the Forest Hill police.

Family members identified the woman, who was killed as Maricela Trujillo (36) and her adult brother when the other person was injured.

“I just can't accept that it is not fair how she had to go,” said Jessica Casas, Trujillos niece.

The Forest Hill police authority received the Frisco Ave.

“She was there and spoke a nice conversation with her brother when it was suddenly. That she was hit, “called Casas, who said her aunt and uncle from the side of her mother were sitting in a fireplace in the back yard on Saturday evening.

She said the ball poured through the backyard fence and into her family members.

According to the police, early investigations found that the two victims were hit by a stray ball that had shot about a block north of the residence. The police said that despite the first aid with the help of Medstar, a victim was declared dead.

“I can only imagine how traumatic it could be to be right next to his sister and be injured at the same time and not do much for her,” said Casas about her uncle, who was injured, but survived.

The police have not published any additional information about the other victim, including the severity of their injuries. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner Office confirmed the identity of Trujillos on Sunday afternoon.

According to the police, a search order near the location was carried out after the processing of evidence and survey of witnesses, which exposed potentially participating firearms.

The police have not released a potential motif or if they identified the shooter.

Trujillos husband, who asked not to show his face, said they had two children aged 14 and 15. He said her 20th wedding anniversary this year.

He said in Spanish that he and his wife were tied to his hip. The husband said he wants the shooter to stand in his shoes and think about how he feels. The father of two children said that he wants this to serve as a memory of gun owners because someone could die like their wife.

“I'm still waiting for her to come through my cell phone when she calls me,” Casas called, who said she spoke to her aunt every day, the last time on Saturday, Casas' birthday. “Get the phone call yesterday and then called it to tell me a happy birthday and to have to get this call earlier at night, I thought my day would end.”

Casas said she wants her aunt because of her big smile, her friendly heart, her hard work, her love for detail and her love for the whole family. She said Trujillo loved her two puppies, Teddy and Bella.

In a statement published by the Forest Hill police, it says that this shootout is isolated and has not dealt with a shootout near Mansfield Hwy on Friday. It also discouraged the residents of shooting a firearm within the city limits.

The police encouraged everyone to contact information about the shootout at 817-531-5250, option 5 or by email at police at policee@foresthilltx.org under reference report No. 25FPD01567.
