Portmiami sets record with 10 cruise ships in one day

Portmiami, the “cruise capital of the world”, welcomed a record of 10 cruise ships at the seaport on February 8th.

The 10 cruise ships were: Carnival Cruise Line Carnival Magic, Carnival Cruise Line Carnival Sunrise, Holland America Zaandam, MSC Cruises MSC Seascape, Norwegian cruise line Norwegian Escape, Norwegian cruise line Norwegian Gems, Oceania Cruises Sirena, Royal Caribbean Icon Icon the Seas, the international icon of the Seas, whose Seas Seas Seas Seas Seas Seas Seas Seas Seas Seas Seas Seasse Sisisise Sirena, Caribbean Icon Icon of the Seste Seab, Royal Caribbean International Independence of the Seas and Jungfrau Voyages Scarlach red. Almost 68,000 passengers were expected to be on board the cruise ships.

The 2025 season is filled with new cruise ships. The ships include Cunard Queen Anne (January), MSC Cruises MSC World America (April), Norwegian cruise line Norwegian Aqua (April), Royal Caribbean International Wonder of the Seas (August), Cunard Queen Elizabeth (October), Virgin Voyages Brilliant Lady (October) and Oceania Cruises Allura (November).

Another historical milestone that took place recently was the start of the coast on June 17, 2024. The coastal output enables cruise ships to switch off their engines and put on the electrical output of Landside while being docked, which gives rise to reduced emissions and noise leads. A partnership between Miami-Dade County, Carnival Corporation, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Royal Caribbean Group, Virgin Voyages and Florida Power & Light Company, Portmiami, is the first large cruise port on the US OST Caves that offers the land strength on five cruises.
