Alonso to change the dynamics in favor of Aston Martin for the F1 2024

Fernando Alonso believes that Aston Martin will enter the Formula -1 season in a stronger position after learning from the difficult lessons of the past year.

The team based in Silverstone, which presented its new Mercedes-powered AMR25 car on Wednesday before the Bahrain tests on Wednesday, was fifth for the second time in 2024.

After the double world champion Alonso claimed six podiums in the first eight races of 2023, expectations were high. However, he could not get over the fifth last year, while team -mate Lance Stroll's best result became sixth.

In November, the team made changes, the technical director Dan Fallows aside and the former technical director of Ferrari, Enrico Cardile, and the title winner of Red Bull, Adrian Newey, who will take part in March 3..

The season begins on March 16 in Australia.

“I think we learned a lot last year. The second part of the season was a kind of experiments that only learn more things in the car 2025,” Alonso told reporters.

“The simulator was also updated, so we worked a lot in the SIM to develop the car a little more precisely than in the last seasons.

“We have new tools. We have a new organization. We have new people to tackle some of the weaknesses that we certainly identified last year. I think we are starting in a much better place.

“We still have to work a lot. We lost a little time and months last year and we think we will catch up very soon.”

Walk agreed: “Over the course of last year, a lot has been experimented, and I think we learned a lot about why some of the upgrades didn't bring us what we wanted.

“Everything that has entered the development of this year's car has really taken many of the lessons that we learned from last year.”

The team director Andy Cowell, who took over the management from Mike Krack in January, refused to set a time frame for success, and said there would be no cuts.

He said the work was done to make the new car more stable and predictable through corners. Cowell also hoped for a better correlation and fit the data from the wind tunnel to what the car did on the track.

A new wind tunnel will soon be in operation in Silverstone and will give the team its own facility instead of using Mercedes' wind tunnel.
