Three separate incidents lead to death Vincennes PBS

A tragic weekend in the First City News Coverage Area as three people died in separate incidents.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) examined two deaths in Greene County on Saturday, both from incidents on frozen lakes. At 1:17 p.m. this afternoon, the emergency crews won the body of 83-year-old Louis W. White from a private lake near the Sassafras Road in Bloomfield. The authorities were called after footsteps that led to a hole in the ice. Divers found white in 14 feet of water.

Later that evening, two men fell through the ice on Beaver Dam Lake in the Hillenbrand Fish and Wildlife Area. While the 20-year-old Cordell A. Foster was saved by the Jasonville police, 20-year-old Justin D. The divers regrained their body from 16 feet water at 8:21 p.m. Several agencies, including local police, fire brigade, EMS and the Coroner's Office of the Greene County, helped in both incidents.

In another incident, an accident with a single vehicle in Davies County called for the life of 17-year-old John “JD” Moore. His mother reported that he was missing on Saturday morning at 3 a.m. after not returning home. Hours later, JD's father found his vehicle overturned in a water -filled trench in the County Road 1100 east. First aiders arrived and declared him dead at the crime scene. The investigators say that his car had left the street, hit a fence and a guardrail and then freaked into the stream.
