Investigation of the narcotics leads to a fentanyl trade in the center

An extensive examination of the narcotics culminated in a large bust at the beginning of this week, which led to a considerable amount of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the investigators and MPs carried out a search command in a residence in the Cedar Bluff Road. During the search, the law enforcement authorities covered a large amount of illegal drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.

As a result of the operation, Danny Joe Segers, a 47-year-old inhabitant of the center, was arrested and accused:

  • Trade in fentanyl
  • Methamphetamine trade
  • Illegal possession of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Illegal possession of marijuana 2nd degree
  • Illegal possession of drug utensils (x2)

“This investigation underlines our persistent commitment to combating drug trade and the security of our community from the dangers of fentanyl and other harmful substances,” said Sheriff Shaver. “We will continue to work hard to disturb the river of illegal narcotics in our area and to blame those responsible.”

Segers is currently being recorded in the Cherokee County Detung Center.
