The investigation is continued for a double fatal Harford County House Fire

Around Maryland, police/fire

Harford County, MD investigators at the office of the state firefighter and the police authority of Aberdeen continued their investigation of the cause of a house fire in Aberdeen, which demanded the lives of two people on Friday morning.

Around 8:15 a.m. on February 21, 2025, the Aberdeen Fire Department, Inc. & Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire & Emergency Services were initially called for a reported house fire in the 100-blocks of the Darlington Avenue. The police department of Aberdeen arrived first and found a 77-year-old man with injuries outside and said that two family members were still inside. The police authorities' officers tried to enter the house, but could not. Firefighters arrived seconds later and tried to control the fire. Strong winds swept the fire throughout the house. It took 70 firefighters for over an hour to control the fire, and later they found two victims inside.

The 77-year-old man was taken to the BayView Medical Center and an APD officer was brought to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. While the Chief Medical Examiner office will identify the victims positively, the investigators believe that the deceased is the 73-year-old woman and the 30-year-old son of the injured man.

The investigators have not regained the remains of working smoke registration within the house. This double -orientality corresponds to six in Maryland in less than 24 hours, two in Anne Arundel County and two more in Allegany County.

A team of deputy state firefighters and office for alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives (ATF) fire investigators worked all day on the cause and the origin of the fire. While both are examined, the investigators have no evidence of a criminal law. You will continue to examine all random causes.

A joint investigation between the office of the state firefighter and the local law enforcement agency, which is responsible, is a standard operating process for any deaths.
