Pet, which was killed in “heavy” 2-story house fire in Lancaster County

Lancaster County, SC (WBTV) – a family was intact, but her pet was killed in a house in Lancaster County over the weekend.

Around 6:38 p.m. on Saturday, February 22nd, the authorities were called to a house fire on the Sweet Briar Drive near the Indian country. When firefighters arrived, there was “heavy fire on the first and second floor,” said the Indian land fire district on social media.

The fire was “quickly brought under control,” said the authorities at the time.

According to district officials, two adults and two children lived in the house. The family was not at home when their house caught fire, officials said.

However, there was a pet in the house during the fire. First aiders took the pet out of the house, but could not revive it, officials said.

It is believed that the pet is a dog, although the county had not confirmed this from Monday morning.

The cause of the house fire was still unknown from Monday, said the county.
