Texas loses football assistant Terry Joseph to New Orleans Saints: Report

An important member of the Texas Football Defensive Trainer employee leaves the school and, according to reports, goes to the NFL for the 2025 season.

The secondary coach of Texas, Terry Joseph, will come to New Orleans Saints as a defense assistant this season, according to Orangebloods this season.

Joseph is an experienced defensive assistant at Collegiate level, but a position with the saints will mark his first excursion into the NFL ranks.

Joseph previously played a role in coaching defense in Nebraska, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Texas A & M and North Carolina and trained four seasons with the Longhorns Cornerback.

With the departure from Joseph to the NFL, the defensive coordinator Pete Kwaitkowski is the only member of the original employee of head coach Steve Sarkisian in Texas.

In 2021, Texas took 80th place in the Pass Efficiency defense, but improved second place in FBS in this category last season under Joseph's leadership.

Texas was first in the country in the farms that were allowed per attempt by the opposing passers -by, touchdowns were created and intercepted.

Joseph is the third assistant from Texas, after the security trainer Blake Gideon had taken on the role of the defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech, and the running backs trainer Tashard Choice took the same position at the Detroit Lions.
