February 24, 2025- there are people who could believe the problem of illegal immigrants who flowed across the southern border and then commit crimes during the bida-hardis administration that can be compared to mice that penetrate into a free building.

In this case, you would have the feeling that a draft law that Senator Michael McLendon (R-Hernando) introduced to the senator in Jackson on Monday when Mice ACT is called, an acronym for Mississippi immigration, customs and enforcement laws. A similar draft law should be introduced by the representative of the state MP Justin Keen (R-byhalia) in the House of Representatives.

McLendon and Desoto, Matthew Barton's prosecutor, announced the introduction of the measure during a press conference in Hernando on Monday morning. It would be 500,000 US dollars for creating a department for immigration authorities as part of a separate enforcement director of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

The department would offer incentives for the local law enforcement authorities to coordinate the efforts with the federal immigration authorities in the localization of criminals that are illegally in the United States and then tackle their deportation or detention in the federal prison.

At the same time, an enormous financial burden from Mississippi's taxpayers would be lifted because McLendon estimates that it costs 8 million US dollars annually to accommodate illegal immigrant criminals at the state level.

Barton said that the taxpayers from Desoto County cost thousands of dollars to host illegal immigrant criminals in the district prison, and quoted a state auditor report in which Mississippi taxpayers cost around $ 100 million a year.

“When we talk about Desoto County, we spent over 100,000 US dollars in the district prison for illegal immigrants,” said Barton. “This is a good part of the change for somewhere, I think.”

McLendon added his explanation of 8 million US dollars, which are reflected in convicted criminals, which were illegal and were only sent to Mississippi Department of Corrections.

“People who have done a serious sentence must be in the federal prison and not in prison (prison) where we are overcrowded,” said McLendon.

Hernando's senator believes that he has strong support in both houses of the state legislator and that governor Tate Reeves would sign the bill if he reached his desk. The governor was in the castle with President Donald Trump with regard to the question of illegal immigrants in the United States.

“He (Reeves) and I were in communication last night until this morning,” said Mclendon. “Nobody is more with President Donald Trump as governor Tate Reeves and I think he believes in this bill.”

The draft law contains the so -called 287 (G) program, which enables the local law enforcement authorities to participate in the enforcement of immigration. The participating officials have a limited authority to arrest illegal immigrants. The draft law aims to act as a power multiplier by involving state and local authorities in the enforcement of immigration. The legislation does not prescribe participation in 287 (G) program, but offers incentives for the departments to join.

Barton said that over 1,000 illegal immigrants in the Desoto County prison have been arrested in the Desoto County prison.

McLendon's draft law was dropped on Monday so that they were assigned a certain invoice number or the corresponding committee for further examination.

An earlier attempt with a beard, illegal immigration and state legislation failed at the beginning of this month when a Barton legislation of Keen died in a house committee and was introduced. The Mississippi Illegal Alien Certified Bounty Hunter Program would have created.
