The warmest day of the year for Rochester

Rochester, NY (Wham) – The beginning of 2025 was more sneaky and colder than normal for Rochester. So far, the snowfall for February is 27 “and the average monthly temperature is over 3 degrees colder than normal.

If you are, we will have good news for you in the next few days.

The bitterly cold arctic air from last week has faded and the entire lane has shifted in the north of Rochester. With the storm route north of the city, we will remain a windwind wind this evening and Tuesday.

This increases the temperature for the next few days to over normal values.

The warming up started today with a high temperature of almost 50 for many areas near Rochester. Take a look at the high temperature of the New York State Mesonet below.

Rochester reached at least 49 degrees with a few places west and south of the city and reached the lower 50s. This was the warmest day for Rochester since December 30, 2024, when the high temperature reached 62 degrees.

As a result of warming up, you can expect a proper melting of snow and ice in the region by Thursday.

A quick -moving storm system will fall some rain until late on Tuesday. Most areas will see less than 1/4 “rain, so that we do not expect any flood problems with the rain in the forecast.

The high temperature should reach the low 40s on Tuesday, with the rain tapered in the late afternoon for most areas near the city until late afternoon.

The temperature falls later this week when another cold front crosses the region. Some snow and possibly some areas with a SEE Snow effect will accompany this cold front, we will keep them up to date.
