Penn State breaks the donation record with over 17 million US dollars for FTK

For the first time, the Thon Fundraising from Penn State exceeded $ 17 million in the fight against child cancer.

The exact total of the IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon was $ 17,737,040.93 and defeated the record of Thon 2024 from 16,955,683.63 $ 780,000, the university announced on Sunday.

Thon is the world's largest philanthropy led by students, the four diamond families that are affected by cancer in childhood, emotional and financial support.

The 46-hour dance marathon without sleep hour started on Friday at 6 p.m. and ended on Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center. This year, more than 700 students danced, said Penn State.

According to the university, Thon has collected more than 236 million US dollars for four diamonds in Penn State Health Children's Hospital since 1977.
