Washington (AP) – President Donald Trump said on Monday that his tariffs in Canada and Mexico will begin next month and end months of suspension of the planned import taxes that could possibly affect economic growth and worsen inflation.

“We are on time with the tariffs, and it seems that it would be very quick,” said the US President at a Press Conference of the White House with the French President Emmanuel Macron.

While Trump answered a specific question about the taxes that are to be charged for the two largest trading partners in America, the US President also emphasized that his intended “mutual” tariffs for the schedule in April were on schedule.

“The tariffs go on time on time,” said Trump.

Trump has claimed that other countries raise unfair import taxes that are led at the expense of domestic production and jobs. His almost constant threats from tariffs have already expressed concerns between companies and consumers about an economic slowdown and an accelerating inflation. However, Trump claims that import taxes would ultimately achieve income in order to reduce the federal budget deficit and the new employees for employees.

“Our country will be extremely fluid and rich again,” said Trump.

Most economists say that the costs for the taxes could largely be borne by consumers, retailers and manufacturers such as car companies that procure and rely on raw materials such as steel and aluminum, which Trump is already separated, and a tariff of 25%.

Nevertheless, the Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum seemed confident on Monday that her government would achieve agreements with the US government before Trump was laid out.

“We would have to make important agreements this Friday,” Sheinbaum told Trump's comments on Monday morning. “There is communication on all the topics and we have to conclude this agreement, I think we are in a place where we do.”

If necessary, she said she would try to speak directly to Trump again. In high -ranking discussions between the two governments, Mexico insisted that the United States also distributing drug distribution and consumption in its own country instead of just pointing to production in Mexico, said Sheinbaum.

Companies like Walmart have warned of uncertainty, while the latest index of Michigan's university of the University of Michigan fell by around 10% by around 10% by fears about tariffs and inflation deteriorations last month. In the 2024 presidential election, voters Trump supported the conviction that he could cool the inflation, which, after President Joe Biden's office, cooled an inflation after President Joe Biden after President Joe Biden.

But Trump continued to threaten the tariffs and maintained these calls, even when Macron, who was standing next to him, had previously proposed that discussions about trade had produced similarities.

“We want to sincerely work for a fair competition, in which we have a smooth trade and more investments,” said Macron at the press conference according to a translation of his French comments.

Macron said the idea was to help the USA and Europe to be able to thrive and said that further discussions would be held by their respective teams to contain their ideas.

Investors, companies and the broader public still try to determine whether Trump only threatens the tariffs as a negotiating instrument or whether he sincerely supports the tax increases in order to compensate for his planned income tax cuts.

Trump is already planning to remove the exceptions for his 2018 steel and aluminum tariffs and tax imports from both metals at 25%.

Despite the talks that the Trump government held with Canadian and Mexican officials, the US President stated on Monday that he would end the 30-day suspension of tariffs that were originally supposed to come into force in February. Trump plans to control imports from Mexico with 25% and most goods from Canada, whereby energy products such as Canadian oil and electricity with lower 10% are.

Trump places tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods with the declared goal of suppressing them, doing more to address the illegal immigration and smuggling of illegal drugs such as Fentanyl. While relatively little fentanyl comes from Canada, the country announced a tsar to tackle the problem and to appease Trump in addition to the existing measures. In addition to the existing measures, Mexico has moved 10,000 members of his national guard to the border with the United States.

Trump also plans to impose new tariffs on the prices accused by other countries. As soon as the tariffs begin in April, the tariffs could be higher than the other countries, which are included in the calculations as subsidies, regulatory obstacles and the value tax of added value – that of a sales tax common in Europe.

The possibility of leading retribution tariffs planned by Canada, Mexico and Europe to a broader trade conflict that lowers the growth of sabotagen. In February, the Yale University's budget tension estimated that the Canadian and Mexican tariffs could depress the average income of the United States by $ 1,245 per year.
