Byus culinary support center was evacuated due to an ammonia gap leaf.

Shipping at the BYU police authority received the report on Monday shortly before 1 p.m.

They reacted to the scene together with BYU EMS and Provo Fire.

The food processing plant was ventilated and all occupants were evacuated.

No further structures in the area were affected by the leak.

At the time of the leak, employees were present, but a BYU spokesman said they were rated by medical staff for breathing problems.

Byu published an explanation of the incident:

While the maintenance teams were working on replacing a valve in the Byu Culinary Support Center, a little ammonia escaped when the valve remained open, which caused an emergency evacuation of the building. Up to seven work in the building in the building have reported some minor symptoms, but nobody was transported for medical help. Provo Fire and Rescue has cleared the area and the building is now back on duty.
