Investigation of the narcotics leads to a bust of fentanyl trade in Cherokee County

Cherokee County, Ala. (Wbrc) – The Cherokee County police carried out a large drug bust after an extensive examination of the narcotics this week.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver said that the investigators had issued a search order in a residence in the Cedar Bluff Road, where they revealed a large amount of medication, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The police arrested Danny Joe Segers, 47, from the center and accused him of trade in fentanyl, the trade in methamphetamine, the possession of marijuana and possession of drug utensils.

“This investigation underlines our persistent commitment to combating drug trade and the security of our community from the dangers of fentanyl and other harmful substances,” said Sheriff Shaver. “We will continue to work hard to disturb the river of illegal narcotics in our area and to blame those responsible.”

Segers is currently being recorded in the Cherokee County Detung Center.
