Human remains Discovered 70 investigations in Plumas County near the Highway

On February 23, 2025, local dirt bicycles were located in a difficult accessible area south of the Highway 70 and west of the route of the State of Clio State 40a. Due to the demanding site, personnel from the search and rescue of Plumas County (SAR) and detectives of the sheriff office of the Plumas County could only reach the location on February 24, 2025. On arrival the remains were confirmed as human.

Due to the elements and the decomposition, a positive identification of the remains cannot be made immediately. There are indications of the crime scene that indicate that the remains can belong to a resident of Portola, Anthony Evans, who is a previously reported person until December 2023. The examination continues.
