From cooperation reports

Salisbury-Salisbury's girls' football team scored a 3-2 victory against East Rowan in the non-conference game on Monday.

East led 1-0 and 2: 1 over the gates of Kailin Bomley and Lelu Hill.

In half with 2: 1 the hornets celebrated a comeback and excluded the Mustangs in the second half.

Salisbury scored goals from Maddie Crabb, Stephany Quintero and Senior Captain Addie Griffith.

Griffith had the game winner. The newcomer Anna Kate Goodman fought through illness to do the last two goals.

Salisbury had an excellent game by Senior Danna Nunez Sanchez (who returned to the team after the last game in her second year) and Lola Koontz, who joined the role of the defender for the Hornets.

“We had a comparatively small team last year,” said Salisbury head coach Matt Parrish. “We have lost a third of this team through the end and the players who were transferred. As a result, we had a lot of inexperience in the field tonight. Combine this with three weeks of bad weather and a total of around five exercises, and we had a match that was more than dexterity and precision back to courage and heart. Both teams worked hard. We have girls who still take part in basketball. We had girls who were under the weather and beaten. I was proud of our girls that we put on this last effort and insured the result. “”

Salisbury will play in Gray Stone on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
