A popular Cornerstone restaurant in Kearny Mesa will soon be reopened, five years after it has been destroyed by a fire

San Diego – A popular Cornerstone restaurant in Kearny Mesa will soon be reopened, five years after it has been destroyed by a fire. CBS 8 has an inside view of China in China Max when it opens among new owners and releases a new menu before its reopening on Saturday.

A three-alarm fire caused by an electrical problem declined the 2-story building and damaged several other companies in the Plaza del Sol complex. The fire caused millions of dollars. Now five years later, China Max celebrates a comeback.

“It is really heartwarming if everyone is reopened very excited and very happy for us,” said Eric Dong, manager at China Max.

The restaurant plans to open again next Saturday.

“During our construction process, while we set up the restaurant, we asked many locals if we reopened this restaurant. It was many, many years here,” he said.

The restaurant is new and the dishes will look a little different than in previous years. You will accept hopeful guests.

“We changed Dim Sum and more dumplings from this regular restaurant,” said Raul Martinez, host at China Max.

They say that the menu contains in house noodles, signature fried rice and cold starters. After years of reconstruction, they look forward to welcoming the community and being a staple for the convoy again.

“People love to get out, like to have drinks, to sing karaoke and hang out late in the evening. Only the Asian community is very family -oriented, have a great break, which we also want to offer,” said Martinez.

China Max 'daily hours will be dinner from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
