Los Angeles (KABC) – Local officials alarm for another fraud who is aimed at victims of the Los Angeles forest fires.

This time the cars of the fire sacrifice drag and then consider them exorbitant fees.

Kathryn Barger, supervisor of La County, is now asking Eaton Fire's survivors when they have been targeted by fraudulent towing companies.

The deceptive operators incorrectly claim to be commissioned by Altadena and then carry them to vehicles, according to Bargers office, without informing the owners about the location.

The representatives of the towing company would supposedly demand excessive fees to release the cars. Some of the vehicles were kept in Germany.

“I think it's disgusting that these fraudulent towing operators exploited fire -ponderers during their time,” said Barger in an explanation. “Those who are behind this hideous system must be held accountable and brought to court.

Anyone who suspects that they were victims of the fraud can contact the Task Force of the Die Task Force of Empire Auto Insurance on (909) 919-2242 to receive support.
