Musk renews the threat to fire participants of federal workers who do not answer e -mail

Phoenixville, Pa. (WPVI) – The Phoenixville Colonial Theater was in capacity on Monday evening when hundreds gathered to a town hall with the Democratic 6th District Congressman Chrissy Houlahan.

An important focus of the town hall was the thousands of layoffs by Elon Musks and President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency or Doge.

“I'm afraid of what is going on in our country,” said Kelly Walker of Sanatoga.

“We really have to become as active as possible to pronounce and protest,” said Carol Hanson of Chester Springs.

Houlahan said she agreed to the concept, fraud, waste and abuse, but ask how it is done.

“My message is to stay there. Many people work and fight for them. A lot is still in the air,” said Houlahan.

On Monday evening, Musk renewed his threat that he would fire all federal employees who did not respond to an e -mail in which they were asked to list five things that they achieved last week.

Several government agencies, including the FBI and the Foreign Ministry, have asked their employees not to respond to the e -mail.

Musk wrote that the failure to react a second time will lead to termination. “

“I thought it was great because we have people who do not appear for work and nobody knows whether they are working for the government,” said President Trump and supported Musk.

On Monday outside the independence hall, members of the American Federation of Government Workers organized a rally that illegally called the dismissals.

The democratic congress member Brendan Boyle says that the cuts could have a devastating influence that indicates 400 recent layoffs in the IRS office in Pennsylvania.

“These are not federal jobs, these are jobs in Pennsylvania. These are jobs in Philadelphia,” Boyle told the crowd.

The Independence Mall is one of the national parks to lose rangers in the layoffs.

Many of the released workers received a letter in which they accused of not fulfilled the performance standards.

“Many of them have never had a performance evaluation,” said Boyle.
