The game in which Novak Djokovic saved five championship points to defeat Andy Murray and win the title Shanghai in 2012

Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have dominated tennis headlines in the past few months.

The two former World Number one recently teamed up after enjoying a legendary rivalry on the ATP tour.

Murray came to Djokovic's coaching staff before the 2025 season and worked together in Melbourne for the first time.

Djokovic reached the semi -finals of the Australian Open under his new coach and lost to Alexander Zverev after he had hit an injury in his past game.

Djokovic then lost in the first round of the Qatar Open against Matteo Berrettini, a competition that his trainer Murray did not attend.

Murray and Djokovic will reunite for Indian Wells next month, while Serb has been looking for a first tour title since the ATP final in 2023.

The couple spoke in detail about how the games they played against each other helped their coaching relationship.

A championship point was soon missing for Murray when the Serb met a forehand winner to stay in the game.

Djokovic then broke back and set up things at 5: 5 before the second set quickly led to a tie -break.

A breathtaking point from Murray at 5: 4 in the tiebreaker gave him two more championship points, which he wanted to use desperately.

As was the case in his career, Djokovic's level climbed to the occasion and paints the lines when he saved another three match points.

The level remained high in the decisive set before Djokovic took the initiative 4: 3.

The Serb won its next service game and then attacked Murray's serve and broke him one last time to end one of his most miraculous comebacks with 5: 7, 7-6 [13-11]6-3.

Murray was not surprisingly disappointed after the game, but was confident that he would recover well from a tough defeat.

“I jokingly said yesterday, but if you talk so much that you exhibit games, continue and go on, it has to happen at some point,” he said.

“Yes, it was a disappointing loss.

“I have already lost tougher games in the greatest events, so I'm sure I will recover pretty well.”
