French visa applications in Algiers, which are to be accepted in March according to a new schedule

The VFS Global Center, which takes over visa applications for France in Algier, the capital of Algeria, has announced a new schedule in which you will work in March.

The authorities announced this Sunday that this temporary change will only be effective in the month of Ramadan, which will begin on Saturday, March 1st until March 30, 2025 in Schengen. News.

The VFS Global Center announces new “rush hours”

The center, which receives thousands of Schengen -Visa every year, has found that a certain time window that is referred to as “rush hour”.

Candidates of certain categories, the descendants of French citizens or foreign spouses of French citizens, have two special slots available for their applications that are set from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

These changes are introduced due to the Ramadan month, which has another dynamic compared to other months. Those who have to submit visa applications during this period are asked to follow these new schedules and to organize their visits accordingly.

France received 58.8% of all applications that Algerians had submitted in 2023

France is the most popular destination for Schengen -Visa applicants from Algeria. According to statistics published by Schengenvisainfo, the Algerians submitted 279.005 applications for a French visa, which corresponds to about 10.6 percent of all applications submitted by candidates from other countries.

In order to reduce the number of applications and to give Algerians the opportunity to travel to France-free, the leader of the right-wing extremist national rally party has made a proposal for visa-free travel. Jordan Bardella France in particular suggested scraping visas for Algerians.

France has received three consulates in Algeria, the Schengen visa applications. The one in Algiers, Annaba and Oran. The consulate in Algiers received the most applications for 2023 – a total of 152,411, which corresponds to 54.6 percent of the Visa inquiries from Algerians.

Another 53,379 applications were submitted to the consulate in Annaba, while 73,215 were submitted in Oran.
