The police arrested the third suspect in December to shoot the death of a teenager in N Austin Garage

The police arrested a third suspect in connection with the death of a 17-year-old in December in a parking garage in North Austin.

The 21 -year -old Joseph Geather was charged with an affidavit by Carlos Sotelo for capital murder in the death of Carlos Sotelo. Two other suspects, omarion verse, 19, and Dedric Verse, 18, were previously arrested because of the same charges.

The shootout occurred on December 13 at around 1:35 a.m. in the Griffis Apartments on Esperanza Crossing. According to the affidavit, Geathers drove a white in 2024 Toyota Corolla with the other suspects.

The investigators say that Geathers is parked on a fire lane with lights switched off while the robbery was tried. Surveillance material showed that suspects that approached the vehicle from Sotelo pressed a weapon to the head of the driver and sophisticated property. When the driver tried to flee, shots were fired.

The affidavit later provides the detectives that he “did not know that a robbery would take place” and thought they would buy marijuana. However, the police found text messages, which on “Licks” – a term for robberies – and plans to acquire balls before the incident.

After the shootout, the police said that Geather's Omarion -Vers, who was also wounded, was driven to a hospital in Bastrop instead of a closer facility in Round Rock. Verse allegedly changed clothes before the treatment and first informed the MPs that the shootout took place in Bastrop County.

Sotelo died the following day at the North Austin Medical Center by Saint David.

The examination showed that cartridge cases were output by two different caliber weapons on site. The police found that the meeting was passed on the basis of surveillance material before entering the garage.

According to online records, Geathers remains in Travis County's correction complex. It is recorded in a bond of 750,000 US dollars.
