Police released Bodycam film material from fatal shootings in which seven officials were injured

San Antonio – Bodycam film material released from a fatal shootout, in which seven officials were injured, and the suspect dead.

On Tuesday, February 25th, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) released film material from a shootout that took place on January 22nd in an apartment complex near the corner of Stone Oak Parkway and Sonterra Place.

Shortly before 8 p.m. on January 22, the police were called to the crime scene of a reported suicide in which a male caller claimed that weapons were suicidal and threatened to harm all officials that approached him.

The police say that a shootout appears at the location during the coordination of their reaction, and the officials hurried to the scene to answer.

At that time, the suspect, who was identified as a 46-year-old Poulos brand, allegedly opened the fire on the officers from the Brezeway of the complex.

Poulos allegedly hid behind a vehicle before walking back into an apartment and shoting out of response to answering officials.

The investigators say that Swat officials who reacted to the scene were fired on the suspect and fatally wounded him after hours of negotiations and various other methods.

“We are a family, so it's difficult times for everyone,” said Danny Diaz, President of the police union. “Usually there are one or two officers (shot), so that's unknown. Fortunately, they will all recover, but it will take some time. Some more than others.”

Diaz spent 22 years in the Swat team and said he also knows what these officers made through when they tried to get the alleged shooter into custody.

“The goal (Wednesday) night was to ensure that no one else was injured, including the suspect,” he said. “Concentrate because it is difficult if you know that one of your brothers or sisters has dropped.”

The wounded officials were all finally taken to the hospital because of their non -life -threatening wounds, and it is expected to recover.
