Arches shine at the 4-hour archhieh shooting match | News, sports, jobs

In Ward County 4-H Shooting Sports, the Ward County Archery Match took place on February 8 at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds and welcomed 248 participants from 23 counties, including 40 young archers from Ward County.

The indoor match contained categories, divided according to old age and arches: beginners (8-10 years), juniors (11-13), seniors (14-18) and a Masters department for at least 14 years that are for a national qualified competition. The arches include Barebow, which are not used for sights or publications as well as freestyle that enable sights and publications.

The results for Ward County participants from the game are as follows:

Senior Freestyle Division: Fifth place – Breanna Mindt, Minot, (score: 283); Sixth place – Teagan Strilcov, Minot (score: 282); Eighth place – Paislee Everson, Minot (score: 281); Also in Ward County were Brooklyn Bloms, Carpio; Faith Carpenter, Granville; Madison Privatsky, Gage Schenfisch and Cole Whitcher, all of Minot; Always Brandvold, Ryder and Tyson Barden, Surrey; Team result – Brandvold, Everson, Mindt and Strilcov took second place with a combined score of 846.

Senior Barebow: First place – Raegan Albert, garrison; Third place – Brynlee Bloms, Carpio (score: 274); Neezen Platz – Elizabeth Michel, Berthold (score: 263, connected to two others); Abrielle Michel, Berthold, also represented County; Rebecca Tetrault, Bowbells; and Mindt and Clara Potts, Minot; Team result – Albert, Bloms, Michel and Potts took second place with a combined score of 815.

Junior Freestyle Division: Fourth place – Quade Everson, Minot (score: 146); Ninth place – Grady Mostad, Minot (score: 143); Heston Seifert, Burlington, also represented County; Tatum Ehli, Tyson Perdue, Rachel Privatsky, Cason Schenfisch, Hunter Schultz and Hadley Yoder, all of Minot; Blake Guritz and Tabitha Haug von Surrey; Team result – Everson, Guritz, Mostad and Seifert took third place with a combined score of 424.

Junior barebow division: fifth place – Taryn Albert, Garrison (score: 266); The Ward County was also Emmy Novak, Minot; Team result – Albert and Novak took sixth place with a combined score of 476.

Beginner Freestyle Division: First place – Owen Peterson, Minot (score: 133); Fourth place – Kelbie Yoder, Minot (score: 128); Foxy Leavitt and Jennings Leavitt, Burlington, also represented County; Lillian Privatsky and Daisy Zietz, Minot; Team result: Leavitt, Peterson, Yoder and Zietz took first place with a combined score of 361.

Beginner Barebow Division: Representation of Ward County were Livvy Michel, Berthold; Finnley Neshem and Hyla Zietz, Burlington; Rhett Bloms and Parker Murphy, Carpio; Hope Anderson and Eva Novak, Minot; Team result – Anderson, Bloms, Michel and Neshem took fourth place with a combined score of 528.
