The fourth generation Toyota Tacoma was delivered for the 2024 model year and already proves to be the most popular medium -sized pickup in North America. Since Toyota 2024 sold Tacomas 192,813, you can bet that it is difficult to see these trucks on the land. In fact, around 2024 Toyota Tacoma owners are so satisfied with their purchase that they will never buy anything, but a tacoma.

But not everything is perfect for Tacoma. The medium -sized truck from Toyota only enters its second model year and some owners have problems. I stumbled into a post in the Facebook Group, 4th gen 2024+ Toyota Tacoma, where an owner has an unexpected problem with his truck. He even added a video and showed the problem. The following he says:

“The truck is not switched on with remote start or pressing brake pedal. Certainly my battery shouldn't go badly, only 7 months in possession. ”

In this case, we do not speak of a 2024 Toyota Tacoma, which is equipped with an automatic transmission, not with a manual. It is always worth starting with the simplest things like some owners ask “What equipment is it in?” This is because newer vehicles with a manual transmission and a button cannot start the engine at the start, unless they press the clutch pedal. Even my 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupé has that.

This is not an isolated problem, but apparently there is a simple solution. However, it does not work for everyone.

2024 Toyota Tacoma cannot switch on and the dealers cannot find the cause

Some owners have given revealing comments on this topic, which, as it turns out, are plagued by other 2024 Toyota Tacoma owners.

Victor Rodriguez says: “Try to put the button/FOB on the start button and then start.”

David Hachey says: “The same thing happened to me and that worked”.

Pete Silva says: “No error messages? FOB battery? Try another fob? ”

Tony Latham says: “I also wonder if it is not the FOB battery. Try to press the button with the fob. ”

While some owners have solved this problem in a simple way, not everyone is so happy. The Toyota Tacoma owners who are less lucky may have a more serious problem in their hands, and it seems that even retailers cannot find out why these trucks die again and again.

Chris Liebl says: “Welcome to my world. This was a problem that (apparently according to Toyota) has never happened to someone else with this “taco”. I have been fighting this problem since November and so far I have 11,000 for my TRD sport. It was 5 times in the shop, even at the moment (by the way, how the 24 Highlander makes a pretty nice lender), and they have not yet found it out. If I find a solution with my dealer, I will let you know. Until then, there is unfortunately no possibility that it will work than time. Sometimes it is 15 minutes, sometimes it's overnight. ”

As with many new models, many owners avoid the first model. The general perception is that early cars did not iron all quirks and are more problematic than later model years. In a Reddit discussion that I found, the members generally believe that they are better if they adhere to this rule and keep their old truck a little longer.

Of course there are two thought schools here. The older a car gets, the more susceptible it is to fail, although there is a good case about the second generation Toyota tundra if you are looking for a “Forever” Gruck. On the other hand, modern vehicles are more technically violent, which means that there are more things that may be able to go wrong. This applies in particular to hybrids such as the Toyota Tacoma I-Force Max, which also documented problems. Vehicles are also produced more than ever in mass production, which leads to a statistically greater probability of defects.

Nevertheless, the Toyota Tacoma currently dominates the medium -sized pickup segment in the USA. The second largest medium -sized truck in 2024 was the Chevrolet Colorado with 70,710 units. Third place goes to the Nissan border (55,915), while the Ford Maverick (40.949) occupied fourth place. Despite some new hiccups, people still perceive Toyota as a brand that produces reliable vehicles, even though even the bestseller Toyota Corolla is not entirely easy.

But I'm excited to see what your thoughts are. Have you had a similar experience? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment area below so that we may have a better idea of what such problems can cause.
