The College Football Playoff system must be perfected before going beyond 12 teams

Since the conversations have started to expand the college football playoff from a 12-team team to a 16-team field, it is important that the system is perfected before the start of expansion. The 12-team playoff was a success for the first line, which enabled us to see the playoffs of the home team and some very entertaining games, the closer we crowned a chamion.

As good as The Playoff was for College Football fans, there are a few things that will definitely have to be canceled at the beginning of the 2025 season. The SEC and BIG 10 in particular are the two most powerful conferences and seem to lead the indictment for expansion, more or less to guarantee four teams per conference in the playoffs every year.

First, I am not a fan of a conference that gets a guaranteed place due to the influence of the conference. Yes, we know that the SEC and BIG 10 are the two most powerful conferences, but do not deserve deserved spots in the playoff system. At the end of the 2024 season we saw arguments for Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina because of Indiana or Boise State, but we saw that the right decisions were made.

It's not always about the sexiest choice, but for me it should always be based on the performance on the field. Sometimes the sexyest team is the right choice, but if there is an expansion to 16, the ACC or BIG 12 shouldn't hurt if you bring in more teams if you have the best team teams.

Before the expansion takes place, you can bring the errors and kinks into the system. Obviously, the visual system must be checked so that the absolute four best teams get the good of the first round. In addition, after the first round, we have to beverored again, to which we may give better games of the second round and do not see a game in Oregon-Ohio State so early in the playoffs. I would also like to see the four teams who also receive bye, get a home game in the playoffs. I think that would not only be cool to see more home games in the playoffs, but there are the teams who deserve an advantage for the goodbye that was not present in the first year.

Another area that has to be repaired is the time from the College Championship on Saturday until the start of the playoff season. It seems that the playoff would be more advantageous for the teams the following weekend and have fewer games in competition with the NFL. The playoff games, which are less distributed, also increase the interest of the casual fan more than at the end of the playoff.

There will be some obstacles on how to place the game with the army navigation and the Christmas holidays, but less time between the games and the national title game on the New Year should do miracles for sport.
