San Francisco Giants Cy Young winner shines in the first spring training start

A day after the San Francisco Giants had driven out one of their cyoung winners for their first spring training start, the Giants sent out their other Cy -Young winner Robbie Ray to make his debut.

Ray, who won the Award 2021 American League Cy Young with the Toronto Blue Jays, already saw for his first start in the regular season when he threw two almost perfect inning in the 7: 5 defeat of the Giants against athletics.

His start came for a day after San Francisco's newly acquired CY -YONG winner Justin Belander started his first start on Monday. He gave up a goal and a run in two innings while he hit one and went one.

Beam? Well, he looked almost unbound, even though he hit the first bat to whom he was exposed to Max Schuemann.

After Schuemann had been hit by a field, Ray Brent Roker excluded and explained a pop-out from JJ Bleday. With Shea Langeliers on the plate, Schuemann was picked up to steal the second basis that ended the inn.

Langeliers returned in the second and doubled on the plate and doubled, so the only goal was allowed Ray. Gio Urshela ruled out, Miguel Andujar got out and Seth Brown was excluded to end the Inning and Ray's outing.

This is the type of excursion from San Francisco, which Ray, who has undergone an operation by Tommy John since his operation in 2023, has hoped.

After winning the Cy Young with the Blue Jays, he signed a lucrative deal to join the Seattle Mariners, where he had a productive 2022 season and helped them break their long playoff vürre. He went 12-12 with an ERA of 3.71 in 32 starts with 212 strikes in 189 Innerings.

He started a game for Seattle in 2023 and suffered an elbow injury that was operated on. In this post -season, the Mariners exchanged him to San Francisco and the Giants knew that he would need at least half of the 2024 season to end his recovery.

Ray ended the rehab, started some starts in the little leagues and returned to the majors on July 24th.

Ray had an option in his contract to test the freelance agency, but he decided to stay with the Giants. If he continues to pay attention, it could be advantageous for both sides.
