Newberry fire chief arrested in an organ transport car for drinking and driving

Ocala, Fla. (WCJB) – Newberry Fire Chief Mike Vogel was transferred to the administrative vacation after he was arrested in Ocala for Dui.

According to the arrest report, the officials responded shortly after midnight on Sunday to report a drunk driver who worked for an organ transport company.

The officials found bird in a pickup with “Life Quest”, an organ and tissue storage company that was also printed.

When Vogel first arrived in the hospital, he smelled of alcohol, struck his speech and stumbled while walking. Officers found four empty and five full mini -wodka bottles in the bushes near the vehicle.

Vogel refused to carry out a field soberness test and was charged with the influence due to driving. He tied out of prison on Sunday.

“The city was informed about an incident with our fire chief,” said Mayor Jordan Marlowe. “We were also informed that the examination has not yet been completed. The boss was put in the paid administrative leave during the examination. “
