The starting date of the provisional police chief was delayed; Incumbent police chief appointed – the outdoor times

Tacoma, Wash. – The city of Tacoma expects the start date of Patti Jackson as an interim police, which was previously expected on February 24, 2025, the necessary administrative procedures needed additional time to plan than originally projected.

The swearing in the ceremony for Patti Jackson as an interim police will take place as soon as all the necessary processes are completely completed from which the city is currently expected to be the Tacoma Police Department as soon as possible.

The deputy boss Paul Junger will continue to act as the reigning police chief by February 24, 2025. Then he will be on a planned vacation. The deputy chief of police Frank Krause will act as the reigning police chief on February 25, 2025.

The city of Tacoma and the Tacoma police appreciate the patience and understanding of the community when this important transition is completed. Patti Jackson is expected to head the department as an interim police until the city administrator identifies a permanent chief of police – and the city council confirms.
