Sandy Mama was arrested in the car for investigation by Dui with children

Sandy-a 31-year-old mother is arrested after driving her children drunk drunk and falling into a mailbox before she fled before the scene.

The 31 -year -old Kerri Lynn Housley was arrested on Monday for the examination of several charges of driving under the influence and child hazard.

The police say that at around 6 p.m. on Monday in 11675 S. Eagle Bend Road, she beat a mailbox and left the scene to return moments later with the bumper of her car.

What made the situation even more alarming was what the officials discovered when they catched up with them.

According to Sandy Police Sgt. Greg Moffitt, Housley was drunk and had her three little children in the back seat. A field of sobriety test showed that their blood alcohol level was 0.291 – almost six times the legal limit of 0.05 in Utah, as from an affidavit from the police from the police.

“We heard what sounded like a crash,” said Rebecca Doyle, a neighbor who was at home with her children at that time. “But I heard metal scratching.”

According to an affidavit, Housley only lives a few doors from Doyle and was on the way to a parent-teacher conference when the incident took place.

Officers also found a bottle of whiskey in the vehicle, according to the affidavit.

Doyle expressed relief that nobody was injured, especially her children who had played outside that day.

“To be honest, I am grateful that it wasn't our children out here,” said Doyle. “I had the idea earlier a day, we will play with scooters. I'm just glad that we stayed inside.”
