No. 6 Mustangs start 2025 season Friday with great anticipation

The hard -working efforts of the team to prepare for the coming season form a great basis for the season. The team's first games are against UCLA No. 1, No. 8 Long Beach State, Concordia University Irvine and LMU No. 2. Rogers says that the team is ready for the season and week after week.

“I think we are actually prepared at this point, now it's all about fine -tuning. This means that we will go to UCLA, LMU, Long Beach State and Concordia that move forward every week to see what we have to do to prepare for the teams we will play, ”said Rogers.

In addition, the team did not open its line -up early. This enables the team to have space for adjustments and offers the coaching staff the opportunity to change the players and at the same time find out what works best.

“I like to be more open to changes and see what works and optimizes adjustments to other teams, not just in our practice. I like that and do it pretty much in the course of March from April from April that this is our team. In this way it worked very well in the past, ”said Rogers.

Although Cal Poly Beach Volleyball was previously seen as an outsider, they are now considered one of the best teams in Division1 Beach Volleyball. Their successes prove that they are more than capable competitors. In fact, the team was in the ACVA pre -season survey in the coming season, the highest pre -season ranking in the program history, in 4th place in the ACVA pre -season.

“Even this program, which has been a very good program for years, they were still outsiders against certain teams. I tried to tell them, see that you are no longer an outsider, you are a worse one, ”said Rogers.

When you are at the top of the ladder, expectations are delivered, but Ferch says that she changes your way of thinking and gives you confidence in the team.

“At the top we always say that the goal is somehow on the back. It is definitely a change of mentality; It's like top dogs against outsiders. Only with confidence in what we worked on, our skills, but more to a top dog mentality as well as a confidence on the way to what we built last year and what we have built this year changed, ”said Ferch.

The team hopes to repeat the achievements of last season and go further. The main goal of the team this season is to bring the national championship home. When you see what you did last year, you know that it is within reach.

“Just know that we did it [made it to the Final Four] Before that we can do it again. We only grown last year so that we can continue to shoot, ”said Ferch.

“I am completely confident with what we worked on, that we can appear and do it even better than last year,” said Martinez.

While Rogers is hoping for the national championship, he is proud of his players. He recognizes the hard work, the commitment and the grit that you insert in Cal Poly Beach Volleyball.

“I am only very satisfied with the team, as you have teamed up as a unit, as you push yourself, it is so far. It was a really pleasant experience for me since school started. Hopefully it culminates in the championship, but even if this is not the case, this is really an amazing team on and off the square, ”said Rogers.
