Crews find gas leak at Myrtle Beach-area high-rise

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – Crews responded Wednesday to a gas leak at a high-rise in the Myrtle Beach area.

Horry County Fire Rescue said it was called to a reported gas odor on the 10000 block of Beach Club Drive just after 3:10 p.m.

An online search matches the address and a photo posted by HCFR to the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort.

HCFR said two floors of the building were evacuated as a precaution while crews were able to locate and isolate a gas leak.

As of around 4:30 p.m., the agency said it is ventilating the building and utility crews are on the way to repair the leak.

Officials added one person was also checked out for a possible sickness, but no one was taken to the hospital.
