Corvalli's firefighters rescue birds, rabbits from the house fire | News

Corvallis, ore. – Firefighters said they had successfully had a house fire in the room in which it started and saved several pets in the early Monday morning after a smoke detector had aroused the resident.

According to Corvallis Fire, firefighters heard a call about a fire in a house around 2:38 a.m. on February 24th. Firefighters said they had arrived to determine that the resident of the house was evacuated, and there was heavy smoke out of a window. Firefighters said they went into the building and quickly contained the fire to save several birds and a rabbit who lived in the house.

Firefighters said that the house's smoke detector contributed to keeping the fire in the room in which it started. Corvallis Fire recalled the residents of always ensuring that their smoke detectors are in operation and never keep gasoline in living rooms.
