The cause of death for the woman who was hit by the vehicle after the home dispute in Valdosta

Valdosta, Ga. (Walb) – Two people were arrested after a woman died after a home dispute in Valdosta.

Walb previously reported that two people were taken to the hospital after they had been hit by a vehicle in Ora Lee West Homes on February 22nd.

The Valdosta (VPD) police identified the victims as 50-year-old Breesy Mensah and 25-year-old Jakia Mensah. Both were brought to SGMC. Breesy was declared dead in the hospital.

An autopsy of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Medical Examiner's Office found that Tressy died of the injuries she had suffered from the vehicle while driving.

Jakia was treated and later released.

During the examination, Detective found that Jakia was involved in a dispute with Malik Crumpton (24), which led to crumbton damaged her property and grabbed her cell phone and car keys.

Jakia took out a knife in the parking lot and started to attack Crumpton physically while trying to climb into her vehicle.

According to VPD, Jakia's mother Breedy kicked between the two Jakia and Crumpton between the two.

While Crumpton left Jakia's vehicle, he beat Breedy, Jakia and a 13-year-old young person who was not seriously injured.

The officials found Crumpton near the residence of a relative after calling E911 to report that he had passed someone. When the officers found him, they saw that he had received cuts on the upper body and his facial areas.

Crumpton was brought to SGMC, where he was treated and released for his injuries. Jakia was also treated and later freed from SGMC.

The police say that Breesy was brought to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) office, where the autopsy came to the conclusion that her death was caused by injuries that had suffered during the meeting of the motor vehicle.

Crumpton and Jakia were arrested and brought to the Lowndes County prison.

Crumpton was charged:

  • Crime
  • Murder for vehicle – crime
  • Theft by taking motor vehicles – crimes
  • Robbery through sudden snaps – crimes
  • Accident hit and run – offense
  • Criminal violation vandalism – pass
  • Cruelty towards children in the 3rd degree

Jakia was charged:

  • Heavy attack – crime
  • Possession of a knife during the commission of a crime – crime

“This is a tragic incident that should not have occurred. The dispute between these two subjects escalated quickly and led to a mother lost her life. Our condolences assume the family and friends of Breesy, ”said chief Leslie Manahan.
