Treasurer in the center of the Nachrichten campaign to troubleshoot the investigation of the center

Philadelphia (WPVI) – A contractor of Philadelphia, who is accused of leading about a dozen people to victims, has now entered into a guilty plea. It comes after a year -long examination through our troubleshooters.

Nydia Han first reported on Juan Rodriguez in 2017. Reporting on the troubleshooting helped three years ago to arrest his arrest.

In 2022, Rodriguez agreed to sit down with the troubleshooters in order to talk about the complaints of his customers.

“Your customers tell me that they know that they knowingly torn them off,” said Han. “No, Ma'am, I didn't tore anyone off,” he replied.

A year after this sit-down interview, Rodriguez was arrested in connection with at least 10 customers of more than $ 400,000.

Dale Schmid in South Philadelphia was one of his victims.

“And now he doesn't answer her calls or SMS? S,” asked Han. “No answer,” replied Schmid.

Several consumers in the Philadelphia area also complained to the troubleshooters that he took their money but had never ended the job.

“I was angry,” said Tina Barlow from the southwest of Philadelphia. “So that they can take advantage of me,” she added.

The district prosecutor's office in Philadelphia accused Rodriguez, 13 fraud fraud at home and eleven theft counts by deception.

“It was a long street. Juan Rodriguez finally entered a guilty plea. What is your reaction?” Asked Han Schmid. “I am relieved. It was really an exercise in resilience and persistent,” he replied.

Rodriguez was also instructed to pay his victims at least partially.

Schmid informed the troubleshooters that Rodriguez had to pay him $ 77,000.

“Do you have the feeling that justice is finally predominating?” Han asked him. “I do that. I just want to thank you for your persistence,” he said. “I hope that in our collective action others will not endanger in the future,” replied Han.

Dale Schmid received a summary judgment in a separate lawsuit against Rodriguez for more than 130,000 US dollars, but said that he was grateful that he at least repeats some money. He also said that two of Rodriguez's original victims died and that this conclusion cannot be seen to their case.

Rodriguez is to be convicted on April 24th.
