Morgan State's acrobatics and tumbling team will be viral after the first routine

Baltimore – Morgan State's Acrobatic and Tumbling Team has led waves on social media with a routine that had not yet been carried out.

The name of the routine is a two -foot split with straddle highlighted by Rayla Buckner and Freshman Lauren Perkins.

The video was seen online by more than three million people.

“When we finished the move for the first time, I was pretty nervous, but it went very confidently this week. I and Rayla were very excited to make a separation,” says Buckner, who is the basis.

According to Perkins, there is immense trust to take off a routine of this caliber.

“Someone can have the strength and someone can have the flexibility, but it also needs to trust because they have to trust me while I slide down and only with arm strength, just so that it holds a straddle,” says Perkins.

For head coach Regina Smith, it is nothing new to trust and challenge. She recruits girls who are not only physically, but also mentally strong, such as A'lycia Moore. She is a junior who lives her best life on the floor again after recovering from an Achilles -Achilles in October 2023.

“The recovery was that it was a challenge because I had to learn how to go again. But I also learned to find fun running and breathe again. It's like you have something that you have taken away from me so much,” says Moore.

Perkins was also doubts about staying in the state of Morgan, but had the challenge. How you and your team love the appreciation you receive.

“Now I really like it here and especially when you consider how much recognition we are getting, I estimate that I stayed here,” says Perkins.

“In August we knew that we wanted to write history. We did it. Now since we did it, we have had to continue it. And now is the next trip National,” says Moore.

The next meeting of Morgan State is at home against Long Island University at 2 p.m. this Saturday.
