The Attorney General of AZ asked to examine the office of the Tombstone Marshal

Tombstone, Arizona (KGun) – Dustin Escapule, the mayor of Tombstone, has announced that he is asking Arizona, the Attorney General to examine the Tombstone Marshal's office for “information about possible misconduct”.

“We had the feeling that it was best practices to achieve a neutral agency so that the appearance of inappropriateness is minimized,” said CCSO commander Bob Watkins. “So we went to the General Prosecutor's office and asked to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the acquisition of the dog program, the financial matters, contracts and things.”

The misconduct, which is shown in the investigative report of the Cochise County Sheriff's Sheriff of the Sheriff of the Sheriff of the Sheriff of the Sheriff of the Sheriff of Cochise, examines the K9 attack from last year.

Commandant Bob Watkins told KGun that the report had taken care of the City of Tombstone leadership, including the escape school. Watkins will serve as intermediate marshal.

“After this investigation was published, the leadership of the city of Tombstone, the mayor's office, and the city council convened, and in this report there were some blatant problems,” said Watkins. “It was emphasized that the Tombstone Marshall's office should probably not have a dog program.”

The K9 program was dismantled shortly after the report was published.

“The management of the city decided that Tombstone did not have the correct infrastructure to support such a robust program. So they terminated the dog program,” said Watkins.

The former Tombstone Marshal Jim Adams announced his resignation on Tuesday, February 25th. His last day with the city is March 14th. His last day in the office was February 25th.

Adams informed the city about his resignation before the request for a “comprehensive investigation” was carried out to the General Prosecutor's office.

“The Cochise County's office only had something to do with it last week,” said Watkins. “The mayor asked the Sheriff's office for advice, and he wanted to get in and examine a few things. So I can't go into the details because the extent of this conversation was, but among them is the procurement process and the process with which these dogs were acquired.

“As soon as I started to hear about it, we have to have a neutral party examined because this must be a deep examination.”

The K9, which attacked one of the deputy marshals, had earlier attacks when he was with border patrol that the seller was not informed that the marshal's office was given the dog.

In a letter to social media, the esculo was announced that a possible misconduct was reported on February 19.

After consulting the Cochise County's office, Sheriff Dannel recommended that “the problems for a comprehensive investigation to the Attorney General of Arizona are transferred”.

“The city of Tombstone remains steadfast in its commitment to transparency and accountability and will disclose the results after the examination has been completed,” said the mayor in the letter.

There is no schedule of how long the examination takes.

“The general prosecutor's office is currently very busy, so I hope that shorter than longer (investigations),” said Watkins. “But they do an excellent job, and I hope that many negative statements and preconceived ideas about TMO employees employees will be thoroughly examined.
