Two hospital stays with life -threatening injuries after shooting near Old Dominion University

Norfolk, va. -Zwei people were hospitalized with life -threatening injuries after a shootout near the campus of Old Dominion University, according to the Norfolk Police Department.

The incident occurred shortly at 9:50 p.m. in Parkplatz 3 in 49th Street. The Odu police published an explanation in which the two victims who were brought to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital were not connected to the Sentara Norfolk.

At 10:01 p.m., the members of the campus received an emergency warning by e -mail, telephone and text in which they were asked to stay inside. At 11:43 p.m., another emergency campaign remedy the shelter.

“The safety of the ODU community continues to have our top priority. All ODU students are automatically registered to obtain ODU notifications, while faculty and employees can choose to receive warning reports. All members of the ODU community are encouraged to register for the official notification system of the university, ”said Garrett Shelton, chief of police from Odu in an explanation.

The police have not yet confirmed a suspicious information, but said that no students were involved. The Norfolk police department heads the investigation.
