Camposol -Leads and Peru breaks the record with over 326,000 tons of blueberries exported

According to the Association of Agricultural Producers Guilds of Peru (AGAP), the exports of Peruvian blueberries achieved a historical record of more than 326,000 tons in 2024.

The Industry Body Proarándanos also shared a ranking of companies that led in the enclosure. Camposol is in first place (35,440 mt), followed by Hortifrut Peru (29,222 MT) and Agrovision Peru (26,620 mt).

“In recent years, our strategy has been clear: Investing in talent, technology and innovation to optimize our production and maintain superior quality standards,” says Ricardo Naranjo, CEO of Camposol.

“We have a highly qualified technical team with an approach based on scientific knowledge of blueberry physiology and its behavior in various climatic scenarios. This has made it possible for us to develop a production model that guarantees availability (for markets) in the twelve months of the year and guarantees sustainable yields and a stable offer for our global markets. “

Naranjo quickly points out that the leadership of Camposol is based not only on production, but also on comprehensive management that covers the entire value chain from the field to the end consumer. He specifies: “We have strengthened our logistics and marketing to ensure that our blueberries achieve optimal conditions for international markets and maintain the freshness and quality that distinguishes us.”

“At the same time, we consolidated strategic relationships with our customers to understand their needs and offer solutions that are tailored to their requirements. This approach has made it possible for us to generate trust and to build long -term alliances with large retailers and distributors worldwide and to guarantee the presence of our products on the shelves all year round, ”he said.

Genetics in Peruvian blueberries

But which factors made it possible to record more than 326,000 tons in 2024? What was the role of Proarándanos and how did the cooperation between companies influence this? Camposol's CEO has its diagnosis: “The continued growth of Peruvian blueberry exports is the result of continuous investments in agricultural technology, the expansion of cultivations and improvements in production management. Despite climatic challenges, the industry has adapted and used market opportunities. “

The success of the sector is due to the increasing production and efficient management, which focuses on improving field management and perfection after harvesting after harvesting.

“In Camposol, we have implemented advanced technologies to optimize water consumption, improve fertilization and strengthening the phytosis control, which maximizes the yield of each hectare. At the same time, dealing with the after harvest was crucial to ensure the quality and durability of the product at the destination. The application of strict harvest, cooling, G and transport protocols has enabled us to minimize losses and ensure that blueberries achieve international markets under optimal conditions.

In this context, the industry expert Proarándanos played a fundamental role in the articulation of the industry, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and to promote the opening of new markets.

“The market diversification and the expansion of the commercial window were important strategies to maintain growth and consolidate the presence of the Peruvian blueberry worldwide. The future of the sector will depend on continuous innovations in genetics, technology and commercial strategies that enable us to strengthen our competitiveness in the most demanding markets, ”warns Naranjo.

With regard to the seasonal prospects of Camposol 2025-2026, we asked Naranjo which role variatal renewal. He replied: “The genetic development is fundamental to the sustainability and competitiveness of the sector. In the coming years we will see an acceleration in the introduction of new varieties after similar trends in other berries such as Strawberry and Raspberry. “

For Camposol, says the General Manager, this process represents a significant strategic change. “We have a solid replacement program for varieties with which we have new genetics with better properties of taste, strength, lifespan after harvesting and also with the ability to produce all year round, with the needs of our customers and the market requirements.”

“In addition, we strengthen our capacities for the supply of seedlings and new varieties and guarantee efficient and sustainable production over time. At the same time, our diversification strategy focuses on the development of new varieties and the commercial expansion, the expansion of our presence in key markets and the optimization of our sales channels. This approach enables us to further consolidate our position as a reliable and competitive supplier in the global blueberry industry, ”said Naranjo.
