Boolder County, Colo. – The Boulder County commissioners approved grants for the mountain and rural fire protection districts of 1,301,726 US dollars.

The 13 subsidies will help to pay medical devices, personal protective equipment for firefighters and emergency personnel, capital improvements for fire departments, new emergency and fire engines and improved radio devices.

The voters approved the sales and tax of the emergency services in 2022, which provides the funds for the grants.

The scholarship will go to the following mountain and rural fire protection districts in Boulder County. $ 49,588 to the Boulder County Firefighters Association; $ 68,990 on Boulder Fire-Rescue; $ 16,063 to the Boulder Rural Fire Protection District; 93,145 to Four Mile Fire Protection District; $ 150,659 to Gold Hill Fire Protection District; $ 35,442 on hygiene Fire Protection District; $ 155,100 to Indian Peaks Fire Protection District; 202,000 US dollars to the Jamestown fire brigade; $ 115,283 to the LFTHAND Fire Protection District; 108,500 US dollars for the Lyons Fire Protection District; $ 61,954 for Mountain View Fire Protection District; 95,000 US dollars according to Nederland Fire Protection District; and 150,000 US dollars to Sugar Laib Fire Protection District.

The Advisory Committee of the Emergency Services Grant Program, a voluntary group of district residents, made the grant recommendations.

The Advisory Committee of the Emergency Services Grant Program checks applications from organizations twice a year that offer fire fighting, search and rescue, security and emergency services for emergency services in Boulder County. The committee then gives recommendations to the commissioners.

Boulder County officers said that a second round of scholars will be offered this spring.
