DPD fires recruit after a criminal investigation, in which a 17-year-old was involved in Tennessee

Dayton, Ohio (WKEF) – A recruit of the Dayton Police Department was released from the police academy after the department was informed about its criminal history.

On February 25, the Dayton Police Department was contacted by the Putnam County's office in Tennessee to confirm that a person is an employee of the DPD.

According to the Dayton police in one post On the social media platform X, after the office of the Sheriff of Putnam had checked the status of the person with the department, they informed Dayton officers that a recruit was examined for crime in which a 17-year-old was involved in their jurisdiction.

The DPD worked together with the investigative efforts of the Sheriff office of the Putnam district and the recruit was arrested due to an arrest warrant in connection with the request of a minor.

The DPD immediately took measures and the employment of the recruit at the department was terminated.

The social media contribution showed the DPD's contempt for the actions of the former recruit.

“The behavior of this person is unacceptable and does not meet the basic expectations and ethical standards of our employees,” said DPD. “The Dayton's police authority keeps all employees the highest professional and moral standards, and a violation of these standards is taken seriously.”

The department informed its followers that she would continue to work together with the examination of the former recruit of the Sheriff office of Putnam County.
