Gene Hackman, Ms. Betsy examined deaths after finding dead in New Mexico Home: Police

An investigation was initiated in the death of Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa.

The couple and their dog were found dead on Wednesday afternoon by Santa Fe County Police in their house in Santa Fe, Mexico.

The Santa Fe County's Sheriff office announced NBC News on Thursday that there is an active and ongoing examination in the death of Hackman and Arakawa.

According to a statement by the public information officer of the Sheriff district, Denise Womack Avila, the MPs were called to an address on the Old Sunset Trail in Hyde Park at around 1:45 p.m.

The police went to Hackman's house after a neighbor called the authorities to carry out a welfare check.

Hackman and Arakawa's bodies were only identified on Thursday morning at 12:30 p.m.

“At this point, the foul is not suspected as a factor for these deaths, but the exact cause of death is not determined,” says Avila's explanation.

Post has contacted Hackman's representative and the Sheriff's office for a comment.

Hackman, one of the most successful actors of all time, was 95.

Arakawa, a classic pianist who had been married to Hackman since 1991, was 63.

Hackman won two Oscars for his roles in “The French Connection” and “unforgives”. He also won three Golden Globes and received the Cecil B. Demille Award in 2003.

His other famous films include “Bonnie and Clyde”, “Mississippi Burning”, “Superman”, “A bridge too far”, “Hoosiers”, “The Firm” and “The Royal Tenenbaums”.

He took his last sheet in “Welcome to Mooseport” in 2004 and withdrew from Hollywood, moving to New Mexico with his wife.

“The straw that broke the back of the camel was actually a stress test that I passed in New York,” said Hackman to Empire in 2009.

After Hackman stopped, he and his friend, underwater researcher Daniel Lenihan, drove together adventure novels such as “Justice for None” and “Wake of the Perdido Star”.

Hackman and his wife met in public almost a year before their death.

The couple was shown on March 28, 2024 in the seafood kitchen of Pappadeaux in New Mexico. Hackman used a stick at that time.

Hackman was previously married to Faye Malteser, who died in 2017. They had three children together, Christopher, Elizabeth Jean and Leslie Anne.
