The Starlink installation program from Qatar Airways is ahead of the schedule

Qatar Airways has achieved a new milestone in its Starlink's High Speed Internet Connectivity Systems installation program in its Boeing 777 fleet. The airline has now equipped the 30th aircraft with Starlink and overtook the half -time in the program.

This milestone takes place four months after the airline launched the world's first Boeing 777 Starlink-capable flight, and two months after the first 2024 target of 12 installations when building the 15th aircraft.

According to Qatar Airways, it has accelerated its Starlink rollout considerably and reduced the installation time per aircraft from three or two days to just 9.5 hours. The airline has created a seamless process to replace the existing systems by the new ones, which eliminates the effects on the operation or the aircraft by the installations for the period of 12 hours overnight.

The airline had initially planned to complete the installations in two years. However, the optimized process means that in the second quarter of 2025 it will complete the full Boeing 777 fleet rollout.

“We commit our commitment to offer our passengers the best connectivity during the flight at an unprecedented pace. In just four months we have already installed this groundbreaking service on 30 aircraft since we launched the first aircraft in the world of the world's first aircraft worldwide-beyond our first destinations, ”said Engr. Badr Mohammed al-Sea, CEO of the Qatar Airways Group.

“This reflects the commendable efficiency and the commitment of our team. Starlink Wi-Fi is a player for our passengers who will soon enjoy uninterrupted connectivity on even more routes. “
