Professional cycling returned to the capital in 2025 after achieving an influence on several million dollars in the previous year.

The national championships of the USA Cycling Pro Road made themselves from Charleston from May 20 to 26. The city guides of the racing plan on Thursday:

  • May 19: Para Road Race
  • May 20: Individual time trial for Para, Junior & Men Junior
  • May 21: Individual time process for women U-23, elite women, men U-23 and elite men
  • May 22: Criterion for women junior, men junior, women U-23 and men U-23
  • May 23: Criterion for Para -Handcycle relay, Elite women and Elite men
  • May 24: Street races for women U-23 & men U-23
  • May 25: Street races for men Junior & Women Junior
  • May 26: Street races for Elite women and Elite men

According to City Leaders, the 2024 event moved almost 3,000 guests to the Charleston region overnight and generated an increase of 4.6 million US dollars for the local economy.

More than 400 athletes from 46 states took part in three races, including a time trails event that served as an Olympic qualification.

Last year the Kristen Faulkner from Alaska won an elite -u23 street race in Charleston, which defeated 92 other cyclists and won a gold medal in Paris.

This year, the second episode of a five -year commitment is to hold the annual championship in Charleston.

The 2028 Pro Road Championships will serve as another Olympic qualification feature.
