OnSlow County's authorities renew the call for tips on the unresolved murder of Gary Morton 2016

The Onslow County's office asks for the help of the public to solve a cold in 2016.

Gary Morton died in 2016 after a series of events that started with a report on breaking and entering Morton's house.

Officials say that on December 8, 2016, the deputies reacted to Morton's house in relation to a break and entry report. Morton could not be found in the house. The MPs were also called in an abandoned residence at the Cypress Court in the rubber branch, in which the neighbors reported two people who entered the house. Morton's property was in the house. Morton's SUV was later left and burned on a forested road in the southwest of Onslow County, and his body was found on a piece of land shortly afterwards.

An autopsy showed that Morton had died of several trauma and a gunshot wound.

The Onslow County's office says that the case has several strong clues, with several suspects being identified as a motif for the crime.
