San Diego had a winning start to life in MLS and defeated the reigning MLS Cup Champions La Galaxy 2-0. With her 2-0 street victory against the Galaxy, SDFC has been the second MLS expansion team since 2019, which won her opening game in 2023 in St. Louis City SC. SDFC has been the third MLS expansion team in Ten Times since 2019 to win their opening game since 2017, with LAFC (2018) and St. Louis City SC (2023). City SC will try to spoil the party in the Snapdragon Stadium when the two teams meet on Saturday.
