LG & E finds Leck in gas pipe that has caused evacuations in Louisville

It is believed that the recent freezing and thawing the soil have led to the gas line bursting, but that is still being examined.

Louisville, Ky. – According to a spokesman for the Energy Company, LG & E Crews found the source of the “dangerous” gas leak, which took place on Tuesday.

The LG & E spokesman said that the crews have been looking for the source since then.

But in addition to the search for the source, they also found a dolin hole. They believe that the recent precipitation has contributed to the scout.

LG & E works with Louisville Metro, MSD and Metro Public to find out how to handle the sinkhole.

The spokesman said they plan to restore around 10 customers on Thursday and hope to restore the other half by Saturday.

While the streets were reopened around the gas leak, the 5th Street remained closed between Jefferson and Market Street, while the crews were looking for the source.

It is unclear when this part of 5th Street will be reopened.
